The phone rings … he’s on the way to the hospital in the big town four hours away. He’s unconscious … hasn’t been feeling well lately … no energy … complained of headache … don’t know what’s wrong … they think it might be a tumor… will let you know what test results say.

Here we go again with family member number four. So many questions: What’s happening? What can I do? Why him? Is it going to be my turn someday? Will I be able to see him again? What would I say to him? What should I do? Can I go to him? No. He’s a two-day drive away. He’s my brother; the one just older than me … the one who got me in trouble every day when we were kids. Now he’s a grandpa.

The phone rings … he’s in the hospital … he has regained consciousness… possibility of surgery.

Oh, good. A little more hope. SURGERY? Oh my. If I was there, I would give him Imunstem & Aktiffvate right now. They would strengthen his blood vessels so his body wouldn’t bleed as much during surgery. Cancer patients here take the new Kemoherb™ from Golden Sunrise Nutraceutical and walk their Natural Healing Pathway. I see the dramatic results. My brother would have the same results; if only I could get it to him.

Two days later, the phone rings … hi, Sis … scheduled for surgery; maybe this afternoon … in the right side of my brain … pinched a nerve … made me go unconscious … surgery will remove the tumor … find out if it’s malignant or not … doctor said I could lose my ability to talk for the rest of my life… didn’t have time to ask doctor any of my questions … he’s busy … had to go… don’t want to do Chemotherapy … not sure what we’ll do next … love you too, Sis.

His voice sounded weak, and I did my best to give him hope. His surgery was scheduled for Friday morning (right now as I am writing). He’s on my mind and in my heart. After surgery, his wife will call.

What happens when the “You have cancer” diagnosis is given? Those words are strong enough to throw a mind into the grieving process. Denial will take over with thoughts like, “No, I don’t.” “How can I?” “I’m healthy!”

Elizabeth Kübler Ross describes the Five Stages of Grief in her book On Death and Dying. Denial, the first stage, “is a conscious or unconscious refusal to accept facts, information, reality, etc., relating to the situation concerned. It’s a defense mechanism and perfectly normal. Some people can become locked in this stage when dealing with a traumatic change that can be ignored. Death, of course, cannot be avoided or evaded indefinitely”, so a person progresses to the next stage: anger.

“Anger,” Ross says, “can be manifest is different ways. People dealing with emotional upset can be angry with themselves, and/or others, especially those close to them. Knowing this keeps us detached and non-judgmental when experiencing the anger of someone who is very upset.”

When I spoke with my brother’s wife, it was different. She was very adamant about needing the surgery to find out if it was cancer or not. There was no time for education about the Natural Healing Pathway or toxin involvement with malfunctioning cells. She had a very strong “Take Charge” personality and said, “We’re not doing anything until after the surgery. I have to know if it is cancer or not and if it is malignant. There’s no way to know without having surgery.”

A person takes charge according to what they know and believe. An emergency situation is not an appropriate time to take charge of your Natural Healing Pathway when you don’t know about it or how your body responds on it. Unfortunately, many in America could hold a doctoral degree from all the hours spent watching General Hospital (Just kidding). Then, there’s all the continuing education units we receive from the drug ads (still kidding). When will we learn about natural healing? When will we experience the natural results of powerful nutrition?

Starting Monday, August 27 from 6-9 PM, I will be teaching Foundations of Natural Healing: a course for taking charge of your Natural Healing Pathway. A certification component will be attached for those who wish to work with Golden Sunrise Nutraceutical’s protocols. It will be the health course I taught for many years plus the certification portion. Call for more information.

Until then … TAKE CHARGE! … Sylvia
