Lindsay to select EDC representative Tuesday
Due to the void of representation for Lindsay on the Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the selection of a future EDC board member will take place at the Lindsay City Council meeting Tuesday.
Council Member Velasquez has stated that he would not reconsider sitting on the EDC board, which leaves the seat open.
City Manager Bill Zigler said that a decision must be made at the upcoming meeting as to who will be sitting on the board. Zigler also mentioned that if no other member was available, he would be willing to sit on the EDC as the representative for Lindsay.
Public comment will be opened at the beginning of the meeting and City Council members will give any updates on activities or matters having to do with the city. Local student Ireland Mccall will be updating the council on recent or upcoming events and activities related to the high school.
Following Mccall’s report, Zigler will present the council with the city staff reports.
Tuesday evening’s agenda calls for two different presentations.
The first scheduled presentation is in regards to the contamination week the City of Lindsay held from July 9 to July 13. Sol Nunez, Mid Valley’s recycling coordinator, will be giving the results from the contamination week project.
The second presentation will be given by Jeff Bartel. Bartel is the business development manager for Climatec. Climatec is a leading provider of advanced building technologies and energy solutions.
The council’s consent calendar is six items long and includes approving a temporary use permit for a Kiwanis hosted event.
Once the presentations are complete the council will move in to executive session to hold a conference with Real Property Negotiators. In this closed session discussion will take place in regards to price and terms of payment for a parcel of land. Executive session
is not open to the public but council will return to the public meeting to report matters that took place within the closed session before adjourning the meeting.
