Jason I. Otter Jul 20, 1930 - Aug 10, 2018
Dr. Jason I. Otter, born on July 20, 1930 in Moscow, Idaho, to the late Mildred (Clayville) Otter and the late Floyd L. Otter, passed away at age 88 on August 10, 2018 in Springville, California.
He graduated from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1955. Jason served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corp helping to protect American servicemen in Spain, Morocco, Central America, and the U.S. from animal, food-borne, and local environmental diseases until retiring as a colonel in 1979.
After retiring from the Air Force, he joined an emergency animal clinic in Grand Terrace, California where he practiced for several years until relocating to the Springville area.
Jason's spouse was the late Mary K. (Parker) Otter. Later, he was married to Ann (Tillen) Otter. Jason is survived by his sons, Brian Otter and Jeffrey Otter; daughters, Lisa Remillard, Lynn Ender, and Laura Mooberry; brother, Larry Otter (Springville, Ca); sister, Doralee Mortensen (Bend, Or); eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Among his many interests and hobbies he was an avid naturalist, photographer, traveler, woodworker, and goat roper. During the thirty years he resided in the Springville area he was active in various Springville community organizations including the Lions Club, the Veterans Memorial Association, and the Dennison Ditch Association, and he authored a guide book on trails, campgrounds, and things to see in the local area.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a service to celebrate his life on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Springville Veteran's Memorial Building, 35944 Highway 190, Springville, California, 93265.
