Ruth Faye Pierce Jurkovich

Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend Ruth Faye Pierce Jurkovich passed away peacefully at home in Porterville on August 8th, 2018 at the age of 86.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Vincent L. Jurkovich, parents, and brothers, Jim, Ted, and Bill Pierce.

She is snrvived by son Nick and daughter -ln-law Patty, son Steve (late wife Carlene), granddaughters, Kristen Jurkovich, Kelly Jurkovich Maloney, Kathleen Jurkovich, and sister Jackie Little.

Born on October 12, 1931 in Alabama to James Lewis and Ila Mae Pierce, Ruth was one of five siblings. At a young age, her family moved to Oildale, CA where she attended Bakersfield High School. She enjoyed indulging in ice cream at Dewar's before returning home and attending dances, where she met her husband Vince.

Ruth spent the rest of her life in Porterville raising her two sons with her husband. The family enjoyed much of their spare time in Pismo Beach. After raising her sons, Ruth became controller of the family business, Porterville Concrete Pipe Inc.

In Ruth's later years, she enjoyed traveling in Europe with her husband, and continual weekend trips to Pismo Beach.

Ruth was devoted to her family and friends. She was a member of St. Anne's School Auxiliary and valued the dear friendships she had within the group.

Ruth's love and devotion to her three granddaughters and daughterin-law was spent through shopping, going out to lunch, and giving advice. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

As her health declined, she enjoyed reminiscing over old memories of dancing with her beloved husband.

The family is forever thankful for caregivers Otilia, Brianna, and Martha for providing Ruth with happy laughter, love, and friendship.

The family is also grateful for Patty's devotion to providing Ruth with comfortable care at home.

Service to be held September 14, 2018, 9 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church 1765 North Newcomb, Porterville CA 93257.

Burial to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery. 563 West Gibbons Avenue, Porterville CA 93257.

Luncheon to be held 11 am, at Myers Reception Hall (formerly The Porterville Women's Club Hall), 265 N. E Street, Porterville CA 93257.
