SETCO moves to Main Street until Nov. election
Open house set for Sept. 18
Southeastern Tulare County Republican Women Federated (SETCO) have temporarily moved their headquarters for the upcoming election to 183 N. Main Street in Porterville.
SETCO is a non-profit political organization with the goal to inform the public about November's election.
Wendy Taylor, the organization's treasurer, took some time out of her busy day to discuss the grand opening of the headquarters and their upcoming open house.
“We are only here at this location from now until November 7,” Taylor stated. “We're here to hand out information.”
The new headquarters for SETCO opened their doors on Monday and operates from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day with the exception of Sunday.
Taylor informed that once the elections are closer the headquarters will operate seven days a week.
“We will be opening on Sundays three or four weeks before the elections but we're closed on Sundays right now,” Taylor stated.
The headquarters are open to the public, and SETCO encourages people to stop by and educate themselves before voting in November.
“Anybody — Republicans, Democrats, liberals, conservatives — anybody who is interested in voting or finding literature of the various candidates can come,” Taylor said.
The SETCO headquarters currently hand out information regarding propositions and candidates on the upcoming November ballot.
“Our biggest goal is to get the public as informed as possible,” Taylor said.
SETCO will be hosting an open house Tuesday September 18 at 6 p.m. in the new headquarters. During this open house, SETCO will celebrate their grand opening with food, drinks and guest speakers.
“Devon Mathis will be here for sure, and I'm trying to get others but the Tulare County Fair is going on and they are all really busy with that,” stated Taylor.
The SETCO organization is looking forward to hosting their open house and educating people on their options for the upcoming election.
