A Woodlake police officer was arrested Thursday on numerous charges after two women came forward saying he had sexually assaulted them.

On Sept. 11, Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling the Visalia area when they came across a man and a woman walking. They stopped to see if they were okay, and as they were talking, the woman mentioned that she wanted to report a complaint about a Woodlake Police Officer whom, she said, had sexually assaulted her.

At that point, investigators with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons Unit responded and took over the investigation.

Investigators interviewed numerous people during the investigation and discovered another victim, who said she’d been sexually assaulted by that same Woodlake Police Officer. The victims do not know each other.

On Sept. 13, Tulare County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested 26-year-old Oscar Robles, a police officer with the Woodlake Police Department.

Robles was arrested on the following charges: Penetration With a Foreign Object, False Imprisonment, Assault Under the Color of Authority and Intimidation of a Victim. At the request of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Robles is being held in the Kings County Jail.

If you know anything about this investigation, or may have had contact with Robles, you’re asked to call the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 733-6218 or anonymously through our Tipnow Program at (559) 725-4194 or tcso@tipnow.com.
