Louis J. Pacheco Jr.

-

Louis J. Pacheco, Jr. was born on September 30, 1933, to his parents, Louis and Alice Pacheco. He passed away suddenly on Friday, October 12, 2018 in Porterville, CA.

Louis was born in Tulare and grew up on a dairy farm in the Goshen area. He was a graduate of Packwood School and what is now Redwood High School. In 1955 he moved to Porterville. He was a life-long farmer and was still farming in the Cotton Center area when he passed away. He also raised cattle during his life and when growing up he was surrounded by dairy animals, cattle was in his blood. He also spent a lot of time in his pistachio trees, he called them his “babies”.

After a long day at the ranch, which was sometimes eight hours, he loved to stop by what he called his “office”, The Eagle’s Lodge, where he enjoyed relaxing after a long-day’s work and conversing with his friends. He never met a stranger.

He was very social and had an abundance of friends, and enjoyed getting up early and meeting with them for breakfast and for lunch daily. He enjoyed this more than spending time at his home at the coast.

He was a member of the Tulare Elks Lodge, the Pismo Beach Moose, the local Eagle’s Lodge and the PFSA (Portuguese Federal Society of America). He was also a member and big supporter of the St. Anne’s Parish (Holy Cross Catholic Church).

Louis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Pacheco; his son, Eddie Pacheco; his two beautiful granddaughters (who were the light of his life), Rebecca and Bailey Pacheco; two brothers, Gabriel and Rolland Pacheco; sister, Alice Fagundes; and many nieces and nephew who adored their Uncle Louis. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tony Pacheco.
