Frank J. Mendez

Eldest son of Valentine and Ofelia Mendez passed peaceful on 10/31/18 in the comfort of his home with his wife and family surroundin­g him. He attended St. Frances of Rome, and was graduate of Lindsay High School and Portervill­e College.

Frank was a very hard worker from the fields to the packing houses and was the Parts Manager for Ford for over 20 years, while there, he received" Commendati­on of Heroic Valor from the City of Portervill­e for the rescue of 4 children from a homicide in progress. He was an employee for the State of California working at Portervill­e Developmen­tal Center. He was a volunteer for St. Ann's Catholic School for many things, Crossing Guard was what he enjoyed most. He was an avid reader, loved Lowriding, the Raiders and yes a Red Sock fan and Norte Dame all the way, and Western movies.

He was preceded by his Parents Valentine and Ofelia Mendez, two brothers, Enrique and Mark.

Frank is survived by the LOVE of his life Anna V. Mendez and all his children Francine Mendez, Frankie J. Mendez, Irene Mendez, Frankie Murguia, Steven Mendez and Valeri "Peaches" Mendez. 17 grandchild­ren and 4 great grandchild­ren. Brother Victor, and Sisters Terry, Marti, Mary Helen, and Stella. His in law, Mother in Law Carmen Perez, Sister in Laws, Carmen Villa, Mary Villa, Olga White, and Brother in laws, Jaime and Michael Villa.

A Catholic Mass at St.ann's will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11:00a.m. A celebratio­n of life will follow at Dillon Hall across the street from St. Ann's Church.
