Sierra View Medical Center (SVMC), after 10 years of operation, has decided to transition operations of the Sierra View Chronic Dialysis Center to American Renal Associates (ARA) and Dr. Nirupama Vemuri, MD.

The new partnership between ARA and Dr. Vemuri will provide patient services to the local community under the new name Sierra Valley Dialysis Center.

“Our goal is to always deliver the highest level of patient-centered care. A leader in outpatient dialysis, ARA operates more than 230 facilities in the United States and has been in the dialysis business for over 30 years. We feel this experience will strengthen the delivery of care to our patients for many years to come.” said SVMC CEO Donna Hefner.

After much consideration by the hospital’s board of directors, the partnership between ARA and Dr. Vemuri has been selected to purchase the existing SVMC Chronic Dialysis Center’s equipment, and will continue to operate services at the current center located at 283 N. Pearson Ave. under a facility lease agreement with SVMC.

ARA, Dr. Vemuri and SVMC acknowledge that the current Dialysis Center staff is a critical and vital asset to our community.

On October 9, current CDC staff received a competitive offer of employment from ARA. Employees were given the opportunity to remain with SVMC by fulfilling positions available

for acute dialysis or other vacant positions.

Sierra View is proud to announce this news and looks forward to the transition, as well as the continued level of care that will be provided to Porterville.
