One arrested, one at large for stealing from PUSD Operations Yard
On Monday at approximately 1:37 p.m., officers with the Porterville Police Department responded to 534 N. E Street, site of the Porterville Unified School District Operations Yard, regarding two subjects observed inside the fenced area.
Upon the arrival of an officer both subjects fled on foot. One subject, Eric Vasquez, was quickly apprehended in the area but the other subject was able to evade capture and has not yet been identified. Vasquez was found in possession of items stolen from a shed located inside the fenced Operations Yard which were returned to the school district.
Vasquez was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department where he is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail. Two Lindsay women arrested in Porterville for possession of
stolen vehicle On Monday at approximately 1:59 p.m., an officer with the Porterville Police Department located a stolen 1999 Honda Civic traveling in the area of Morton Avenue and Lihu Street.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle in the area of Lihu Street and School Avenue and made contact with Daisy Ruiz, 35, and Jacqueline Garibay, 28, both from Lindsay, who were taken into custody without incident.
Both suspects were later booked at the Tulare County Sherriff’s Department where they are being held in lieu of $25,000 bail each.
