Mark Anthony Boyett
Mark Anthony Boyett, age 60, of Porterville passed away on Tuesday November 6th peacefully in his home. Mark was born in Porterville on October 31st 1958 to Wanda and Herman Boyett. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Melissa Clem, and nephew, Casey Clem all from Porterville. Mark is survived by his nephew, Cody Clem and his wife Candice Burns-clem, and brother-in-law, Rick Clem. Mark was a lifelong resident of Porterville and a 1976 graduate of Monache High School. In Mark’s younger years he could be found tearing it up on the dirt track racing motorcycles, or enjoying bowling league at Porterville Lanes. Mark’s love for racing and classic cars continued to the day of his passing. On the weekends, he could be seen driving his 1968 Mustang Fastback around town, going to car shows, or sitting at the races. He has built engines and fabricated parts for neighbors and friends over the years and most recently completed a frame off restoration of his nephews 1962 Ford pickup. When recently asked why he loves working on classic cars he said, “It’s all about the nostalgia and making memories.” Mark will be forever known as teaching and mentoring those around him, be it his nephews or the neighborhood kids and even his friends. Knowing this, he would want everyone to know at least two things: “Always measure twice, and cut once;” and “Work smarter, not harder.” A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Porterville on Tuesday November 20th at 11:00am.
