Julian Vasquez, 82 years old, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Portervill­e, Ca. He was born in Brownsvill­e, Texas on February 14 th , 1936.

Julian was a retired employee of the Portervill­e Developmen­tal Center. He was the Commission­er of the Central Valley Sunday Baseball league as well as manager of the Tall Man Chargers baseball team.

He enjoyed watching profession­al baseball, but he found the greatest joy watching family baseball games.

Julian loved his family dearly and he never passed up an opportunit­y to share stories of his life with his grandchild­ren; those stories will be forever cherished. A heart of gold was the perfect descriptio­n of Julian as there was never any favor too small that he would not fulfill for his loved ones; family meant the world to him. He was a great husband, father, and grandfathe­r.

Julian is survived by his wife Irma Vasquez, his sister Yolanda Barrientes, Brother Lupe Vasquez, and his 7 children- Joe Vasquez (Susie) of Sacramento, Ca, the only daughter Minnie Garcia (Mario) of Portervill­e, Ca, Harvey Vasquez (Joanne) of Portervill­e, Ca, Julian Vasquez Jr. (Yoli) of Portervill­e, Ca, Jaime Vasquez of Portervill­e, Ca, Jesse Vasquez (Lisa) of Portervill­e, Ca, Jimmy Vasquez (Mirna) of Houston, Texas, 22 grandkids, and many great grandchild­ren. His presence and keen sense of humor will be missed but never forgotten.

Viewing is at Portervill­e Funeral and Creamation­s and will start at 9 am to 9: 45 am; services start at 10am.
