Two injury traffic collisions Monday
Vehicle vs. bicyclist, injury traffic collision
On Monday, Dec. 3 at 10:14 p.m., officers with the Porterville Police Department responded to the area of Springville Avenue and Jaye Street regarding a vehicle vs. bicyclist injury traffic collision. During the investigation, Officers discovered a bicyclist, who was identified as Ktisis Abbott, was riding her bicycle northbound across Springville Avenue, west of Jaye Street, outside of
the crosswalk without proper lighting equipment.
Abbott was struck by a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jorge Gonzalez, 33, from Porterville, who was traveling westbound on Springville Avenue from Jaye Street.
Abbott complained of pain to her right shoulder and was transported to Sierra View Medical Center by medical personnel for treatment of her injuries.
Vehicle vs. pedestrian, injury traffic collision
On Monday, December 03 at 6:58 p.m., officers with the Porterville Police Department responded to the area of Morton Avenue and Second Street regarding a vehicle vs. pedestrian injury traffic collision.
During the investigation, officers discovered the pedestrian, who was identified as Kesha Gonzalez, was walking northbound in the crosswalk of Morton Avenue at Second Street when
she was struck by a black 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Emily Day, 25, from Lindsay.
Day was making an eastbound turn onto Morton Avenue from southbound Second Street at the time of collision.
Gonzalez complained of neck and back pain and was transported to Sierra View Medical Center, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.
