Warren Pierson passed at the Sierra Hills Retirement Home in Portervill­e, California on January 27, 2019, just five days before his 98th birthday.

Warren was born in Malad, Idaho on February 1, 1921.

He attended schools in Utah and Nevada. After graduating, he moved to California to become an apprentice sheet metal fabricator. His career as a sheet metal worker spanned 25 years.

During World War II, Warren met Mildred Manor at a Los Angeles skating rink. They married on November 17, 1943. They establishe­d a home in Pasadena, California where they began raising two daughters, Janice and Linda.

In 1964 Warren began building a mountain home in the Pine Flat community. He built the entire house by himself, including the cabinets and the wood stove.

After his retirement in 1971, Warren, Mildred, and the girls moved into that creekside home.

While living in Pine Flat, Warren worked for the Pine Flat Water Company. He also worked a few seasons as a forestry technician for the Forest Service which included working at check stations in the forest and relief lookout at Tobias, Mule Peak, and at Baker Point. In addition he worked at the Forest Service in the Older American Program where he helped remodel the office, built cabinets, and other odd jobs. Warren was an important volunteer in the renovation of the old school building that became the California Hot Springs Community and Senior Center. Among other projects, he constructe­d the sheet metal hood over the kitchen’s large commercial stove.

A naval veteran of World War II, he was chosen to participat­e in the 2014 Honor Flight which took veterans of World War II to visit Washington D.C. to see the World War II Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and many national monuments and memorials.

Warren was an active member of the Terra Bella American Legion where he served as Finance Officer for many years and worked the American Legion Bingo events on Friday nights where he was affectiona­tely known as “Mr. Coffee”.

Warren was preceded in death by Mildred, his beloved wife of 68 years, who passed on December 28, 2011. He is survived by his two daughters and their families: daughter Janice and husband Dusty Boesch, granddaugh­ter and grandson-in-law Brandell and Bob Patterson, grandson and granddaugh­ter-in-law Tyson and Courtney Boesch and great grandson Riley; and by daughter Linda and her husband, Bill Moench, grandson and granddaugh­ter-in-law Darren and Amy Moench, and great grandson Darren.

Services will be held at Myers Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
