Evelyn N. Crews Jan 16, 1934 - Feb 16, 2019

Evelyn Nadene Crews, 85, died in Elk Grove, California the morning of February 16, 2019, surrounded by friends and family.

Evelyn Brewer was born in Pasadena, California January 16, 1934, attended John Muir High School and Pasadena City College, before marrying Bill Crews in January of 1952. She graduated from Fresno State in 1968 with a degree in English, and continued on to earn her teaching credential and masters in Linguistics.

Evelyn began her teaching career in 1970 teaching 2nd grade at Burton Elementary and later Oak Grove School. In subsequent years as her children became members of the Monache Marauder band,

Evelyn volunteered much of her time and talent to write the band newsletter, as well as organize events and activities for the band students and parents group.

After retirement Evelyn volunteered for various high school’s football teams writing their team newsletter, as well as volunteering to teach reading in the Porterville Unified School District.

Evelyn leaves behind 5 children, Mike (Rhonda) Selma, David (Dana) Auburn, Larry, Sandy and Laurie, their spouses, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
