135 positive cases; six deaths
FHCN offers testing to those eligible; no community curfew
Tulare County Health and Human Services reported shortly before noon on Monday there are now 135 positive cases of COVID-19 in the county.
The county also reported there was another death, bringing the total to six deaths in Tulare County due to the coronavirus. The county reported the person died on Sunday and was over the age of 65. The county reported it’s unknown how the individual came down with the coronavirus.
There are now nine positive cases in Lindsay and eight positive cases in Porterville. The number of positive cases increased by 19 from Sunday from 116 to 135.
Twent cases have been reported as travelers, 86 are due to person-to-person contact and 29 are still under investigation.
There are 239 people under selfquarantine being monitored by public health officials. The county reported six people diagnosed with COVID-19 have recovered.
Family Health Care offers testing
Family Health Care Network is offering testing for COVID-19 to those who are eligible. All new and existing patients are welcome.
Those who want to know if they’re eligible can call (559) 781-8444. A provider will then call at a scheduled time to set up a visit. Symptoms will be evaluated via phone or video. An FHCN provider will be able to prescribe medication for symptoms and determine if one meets the criteria to come for drive-thru COVID-19 testing.

No community curfew
A post has been placed on Facebook stating “City Council Commissioners” levied a temporary curfew prohibiting nonessential travel in Porterville at an
emergency meeting. The City Council didn’t have an emergency meeting and hasn’t taken any action to impose a curfew. The City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight. Walmart is now limiting the number of customers who can be in their stores. Walmart stores are now only allowing five customers per 1,000 square feet, about 20 percent of a store’s capacity.
Only one entrance to Walmart stores will be used and customers will be directed to that entrance and will be allowed into the store one at a time. Customers will be admitted on a 1 out, 1 in basis.
In a number of stores, only one way movement will be allowed in aisles, with floor markers and directions from employees instructing customers where to go. When customers leave the store they will leave through a different different door than the one they entered. Job Connect Workshop
Tulare County Employment Connection and the Workforce Board of Tulare County will host a live Job Connect Workshop on Facebook at 9 a.m. The workshop will be held at 9 a.m. every Tuesday through June 30. Panera Bread launched a limited grocery service on Monday. Panera Bread is now offering a drive-thru in which people can purchase groceries. Groceries available are avocados, tomatoes, blueberries, grapes, apples, milk, French baguette, bread, bagels and cream cheese. Quantity restrictions apply and availability may vary.
