Trump: Undemocratic, dangerous, corrupt
Three simple reasons Trump must go: Donald Trump is undemocratic, he’s dangerous and he’s corrupt.
1. He’s undemocratic. By ignoring the subpoena power of Congress, by politicizing the Justice Department, attacking the press, criticizing individual judges, interfering in military trials and even suggesting that his presidential power is unlimited. Trump has done serious harm to our democratic norms and institutions. It will take years to rebuild the damage done during this administration, but it starts with winning on November 3.
2. He’s dangerous. We saw in El Paso what can happen when a president stokes the fire of hate. A 21-year-old shooter killed 20 people and injured many more after penning a manifesto that echoed Trump’s own statement about immigrants. And Trump’s rhetoric is likely to become more aggressive as Election Day draws closer. For the sake of future generations, we must show the world that America rejects hate — and Donald Trump does not represent the American way.
3. He’s corrupt: As we saw from the House’s impeachment inquiry, the President’s actions in Ukraine were undeniably unethical. But that was only the latest among countless examples of Presidential corruption. Trump seems unabashed about using his office for personal gain, and the GOP is more willing to tolerate his actions. The President’s corruption sets a dangerous example for future Presidents. I don’t want to think about what another four years of Donad Trump would look like. We’ve already seen the damage he’s done in less than a single term in office. Fred Mendoza Springville
