352 cases in the county, 11 new cases at Lindsay nursing facility

Tulare County Health and Human Services reported on Wednesday afternoon there are now 352 positive cases of COVID-19 in the county.

That’s an increase of 56 cases over Tuesday. Two new deaths were reported by the department, increasing the death count from COVID-19 in Tulare County to 15.

The department reported there are 35 cases in Lindsay and 21 cases in Portervill­e. There are 215 cases in Visalia, 40 in Tulare, 35 in the Dinuba, Kingsburg and Woodlake areas and three in Pixley.

Twenty-five cases have been reported as travelers, 238 have been reported as person-to-person contact and 89 are still under investigat­ion.

Fourteen are ages 0-17, 28 are ages 18-25, 75 are ages 26-40, 97 are ages 4164 and 138 are above the age of 65.

The department reported 15 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. There are 457 people in the county who are under self-quarantine and being monitored by public health officials.

COVID-19 OUTBREAK IN LINDSAY GARDENS NURSING FACILITY

The Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency announced on Wednesday that an outbreak of 11 positive COVID-19 cases has occurred at the Lindsay Gardens Nursing and Rehabilita­tion Facility. The agency released a statement that read as follows:

“Tulare County Public Health Branch announces that Lindsay Gardens Nursing and Rehabilita­tion Facility has had 11 residents test positive for COVID-19. Lindsay Gardens administra­tion reached out to Tulare County Public Health as soon as they observed symptomati­c residents and those residents were able to be tested.

“At this time, Tulare County Public Health staff are working actively with

Lindsay Gardens and the CDPH Healthcare associated Infection program on ensuring they understand the guidelines for caring for COVID-19 patients and appropriat­ely keeping them separate from the residents who are non-symptomati­c. Additional­ly, hospital associated infection control has been informed and began an initial investigat­ion as soon as the facility reported the first positive case.

“State and County personnel are going to be on-site at Lindsay Gardens today to conduct a site visit related to infection prevention.

“Updates continue to be available on our website: www.tchhsa.org.”

FAMILY CRISIS CENTER CLOSES COUNSELING CENTER

On Wednesday, the Family Crisis Center announced that they will no longer be opening their Counseling Center and Administra­tion doors until further notice. Employees who work at that location are still available via email or telephone.

The essential 24hour crisis services such as emergency domestic violence shelter, 24-hour hotline and legal advocacy are still available. Legal advocates will still be available to assist with Temporary Domestic Violence Restrainin­g Orders by appointmen­t only.
