LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

I’ve met people who criticize President

In response to Carole Steven’s letter dated May 20, I can’t believe she hasn’t met anyone who has a bad thing to say about our “genius” President.

I guess she hasn’t heard some of the vile statements and unfounded accusations he has spewed forth at his rallies. It only illustrates how separate we Americans are today in what we ready and where we get our information.

Even within our separate spheres there are some basic qualities of a good human being and leader that we should hold in common. The qualities that make a man or woman exceptional do not change from one political party or another; they are connstant throughout history. In my opinion, our current President exhibits exactly none of the traits that make a man “good.” He has exactly the opposite characteristics.

Since the beginning of his administration there has been an unending parade of scandals in this revolving door of characters. Many have tried to contain the President’s behaviors and many more have had their characters smeared. Ask yourself is this man you want as a role model for our young children today? A man with not a single Christian bone in his body?

Our great country cannot endure another four years of turmoil and chaos. Our planet sure won’t be any healthier. So, please think hard before you vote in November. It might have been an exciting reality TV show type of administration, but isn’t four years enough? It is time for the return of honesty, decency and civility and working together to solve some serious problems. We need to preserve our system of checks and balances and ethical behavior. Four years of name calling, braggadocio, juvenile behavior and daily lying is enough. Todd Pixler Porterville

Why is wall still being funded?

I just read $1.3 billion was awarded to a N.D. Co. to put 42 miles on “The Wall.”

My God, people are starving, losing their homes, jobs and so much more.

The Wall in other words is much more important than the people of the U.S. More important than the people who have this horrible virus — people who are dying. We need a solution — vaccine — a cure, not feeding the President’s (I use the term with reservations) “ego.”

Please cancel the contract and help the American people. Lavern Travis Porterville
