Tulare County Fair announces new attractions
The Tulare County Fair has announced new entertainment for fair-goers to enjoy from the comfort of their vehicles, while also enjoying drivethru treats.
Helm and Sons Amusements, which has provided the Fair’s midway attractions for many years, will display their dinosaur exhibit, an acrobat circus known as “America’s One-ring Wonder,” musical entertainment with Bubba Bear and more.
The modified Fair will run from Friday, Sept. 18, through Sunday, Sept. 20, from noon to 10 p.m. daily. Access the drivethru and events from Bardsley Avenue, and exit onto Martin Luther King Avenue.
“Due to the pandemic, we are needing to be extra creative and resourceful, and we’re grateful to Helm and Sons for bringing these attractions to the fair,” noted Tulare County Fair CEO Dena Rizzardo. “Fairgoers can see the performances while enjoying their favorite fair foods, including corn dogs, lemonade and funnel cakes.”
Fairgoers will also be able to enjoy Community Feature Booths, created by local businesses, and see community members’ award-winning entries on display.
The drive-thru will include cotton candy, caramel and candy apples, corn dogs, funnel cakes and fresh lemonade. The fee is $5 per person, but children 12 and under can participate at no charge.
Wristbands will be issued so that families can go through as many times as they like on the same day and only pay the $5 fee once per day.
Veterans Appreciation Day will be celebrated at the fairgrounds with locally made quilts presented to veterans. Due to COVID19, the event will be invitation only, but will be live streamed.
“The Quilts of Honor were created by residents from throughout Tulare County,” Rizzardo explained. “This has become an important tradition for the fair, and we are pleased to be able to honor our veterans.”
