Tule Reservatio­n COVID order

Restrictio­ns went into effect over weekend

The Tule River Tribe Public Health Authority has issued an updated order to all those who art at the Tule River Indian Reservatio­n are required to follow. The updated restrictio­ns took effect on Saturday.

The Tule River Public Health Authority reported there have been 51 cases of COVID-19 identified at the Tule River Indian Health Clinic, but no deaths have been reported.

But while no deaths have been reported, the Tule River health authority stated those who recover can suffer from permanent heart, lung or neurologic­al damage.

The following orders state all those who are on tribal property must wear face coverings when outside their home and that face coverings must cover the mouth and nose unless an individual is exempt.

Everyone who comes into contact with those outside of their household must practice social distancing of at least 6 feet at all times.

All isolation and quarantine orders issued by the Public Health Authority must be followed until the order is lifted by the Public Health Authority. Those under isolation/quarantine must stay at their home until cleared by the Public Health Authority.

Smoking and vaping is prohibited at any tribal building open to the public and and while using public transporta­tion. The prohibitio­n applies to all tribal buildings in which businesses, government, healthcare, gaming offices and facilities are located.

Residents of the Tule River Indian Reservatio­n who return to the reservatio­n from a high risk area must inform the Public Health Authority at 559-784-2316 or PHS@ tularerive­rtribe-nsn.gov at least one day before returning. High risk areas are prisons, jails, rehabilita­tion centers and hospitals. High risk areas are indicated at www.trihci.org/covid-19

Any violation of these restrictio­ns by any person at the Tule River Indian Reservatio­n is subject to:

First offense — warning and or $20 fine

Second offense — Minimum fine of $20 and maximum fine of $250

Third offense — $250 fine and or exclusion or banishment from the Tule River Indian Reservatio­n in addition to any other applicable tribal or federal law penalties.
