Active cases declining

Recoveries on the rise

According to the most recent report released by the Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency on Wednesday, the number of active cases declined by 262. There are now 4,660 people in Tulare County who active cases of COVID-19.

The number of overall cases increased by 319 over Tuesday’s report. Since March 11 there have now been 42,186 positive cases of COVID-19 in Tulare County. Of those 42,186 total cases, 68 cases were contracted through travel, 11,212 cases were contracted person to person and 30,906 cases are still unknown as to how they were contracted.

On a brighter note, there was a large increase in recoveries since Tuesday. The number of recoveries increased by 572. There are now 37,011 people in Tulare County who have recovered after testing positive for COVID-19.

With vaccines becoming more available to the public, the number of Tulare County residents getting vaccinated increases by the day. As of Wednesday, 5,388 people who live in the county have been vaccinated.

The Health and Human Services Agency reported nine more deaths since Tuesday, bringing the total number of deaths in Tulare County due to COVID-19 to 515.

Since March 11 there have been 8,344 cases in the Portervill­e area, 35 cases in foothill-mountain communitie­s, 692 cases in Pixley, 108 cases in Springvill­e, 590 cases in Terra Bella, 547 cases in Strathmore, 1,589 cases in Lindsay, 304 cases in Tipton, 7,446 cases in Tulare, 3,684 cases in Dinuba, 65 cases in Alpaugh, 280 cases in Richgrove, 1,264 cases in Earlimart, 1,044 cases in Farmersvil­le, 898 cases in Exeter, 784 cases in Woodlake, 43 cases in Three Rivers, 660 cases in Cutler, 1,253 cases in Orosi, 83 cases in Goshen, 212 cases in Traver, 48 cases in the Reedley area, 17 cases in Orange Cove and 434

cases in Ivanhoe.

In Visalia there have been 4,664 cases in one region, 3,038 cases in another region and 3,660 cases in a third region.

There have been 6,149 cases ages 0-17, 6,618 cases ages 18-25, 11,955 cases ages 2640, 13,080 cases ages 41-64 and 4,360 cases ages 65 and older.

There have been 23,145 cases who have been Hispanic, 5,588 have been Caucasian, 808 have been Asian, 284 have been African American, 251 have been Native American, 1,356 have been multirace and 10,754 are unknown.

There are 346 people in Tulare County under self-quarantine being monitored by public health officials.
