LETTER TO THE EDITOR

-

Newsom must go

Gavin Newsom must go! There seems to be this idea that “radical right wing, Trump loving, insurrectionists” are trying to hijack California’s government with this recall election.

THIS IS NOT TRUE. Californians are just tired of self serving elitists making up rules ( not laws) for us to follow, when they won’t even follow them (French Laundry). The word “mandate” is the buzz word of the day. Mandate “an authorization to act given TO a representative.”

Our government is supposed to represent the will of “We The People” instead they dictate THEIR will on us. The shutdowns and mandates imposed by Gavin Newsom are rules that reflect his morals and beliefs! Liquor stores were essential, but AA support group/meetings were banned; marijuana dispensaries were essential, but churches were shuttered.

We who support the recall effort aren’t looking to change the office of governor from blue to red, we seek to change to a governor who listens to, and responds to, the will of the people. On September 14 we have an opportunity to let our elected leaders know that if they won’t listen to us, We the People, then we will elect someone who will. Vote YES to recall Gavin Newsom.

Larry Elder is a conservative radio talk show host, author, and political commentator who grew up in South Central L.A.. Larry believes that government should be smaller (much smaller), police should be supported, criminals should be held to account, and people should be responsible for themselves. Larry believes in school choice, a national sales tax (no more IRS), and opposes government mandates. Elitists, like Gavin Newsom, think they can buy your support and vote with stimulus money and other freebies, but don’t be fooled. There is an old saying “Government that is big enough to give everything you want and need, is also strong enough to take it all away.”
