Dorothy Hart Lama

Dorothy Jean (Hart) Lama, age 95 originally from Lindsay, CA passed away on August 9, 2021 in her home where she lived for the past five years with her son Greg and his wife Peggy in Springfield, MO.

Services will be at the Lindsay Cemetery in Lindsay CA on Friday October 8, 2021 at 10:00 am.

Dorothy was born on June 14, 1926 to John and Nancy (Guinn) Hart of Waukena, CA.

The family later moved to Lindsay, CA when Dorothy was 5 years old and started kindergarten and graduated from Lindsay High School in 1944.

She married Charles E. Lama on June 25, 1949 in Monrovia, CA.

The couple moved to Lindsay, CA in 1951 where they raised their two children Nancy and Gregory.

Dorothy was active in PTA, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Past President of the Lady Lions Club in 1959.

She was employed in the offices of Lindsay Fruit Association and Brogdex Company retiring in 1990.

Some of her favorite pastimes were dancing with her late husband Charlie, sewing, doing alterations, crossword puzzles, reading, watching television, knitting, counted cross stitch, playing cards and dominos with Greg and Peggy. She enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and watching her greatgrandchildren as they would run through the house and into her room! She also loved a good phone conversation with family and friends from afar when she lived in Missouri as well.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, daughter Nancy, brother Jack Hart, sisters Elizabeth Warner-wilder, Sara Kay Cameron and Ruth Ann Bergantz all of California.

She is survived by her son Gregory and wife Peggy Sue, granddaughter Casey Mae Lama (friend Gage), grandson Dylan Charles and wife Kasey Lama, 3 great-grandchildren, Brody, Maryn and Vivienne Lama all of Missouri along with countless relatives and friends.
