To the Porterville Unified School District and its Pathways program for Thursday’s ribboncutting, or actually “chain”-cutting of the new Garner Holt Animakerspace addition to the Future Ready Lab at the former Citrus South Tule School site.
To American Legion Post 20 Commander Mike Smith, American Legion Riders of California Sergeant-at-arms Cory Watternberger of Post 221/Chapter 221 and Post 20/Chapter 20 president Mike Phillips and all those who participated and donated to the Pony Express Ride to assist victims of the Dixie Fire. A total of $11,535.13 was raised by the effort.
To Porterville Police Officers Janet Bray and Angel Hernandez for their life saving heroics. The two were honored at Tuesday’s Porterville City Council meeting.
To the Pierian Reading Club for the establishment of the 18th Porterville Little Library at 1763 West Brian Avenue.
To the members of the Leadership Porterville Class of 2022 — Yuriko Velarde, Derek Mathews, Tara Warren, Alida Verduzco Silva, Refugio Rodriguez, Michael Warden, Jasmin Quinones and Martin Medina.
To Jennifer Biagio for being selected to lead the Tulare County Office of Education’s Education Resource Services. Biagio has worked as a leadership support services administrator and improvement science coach and previously worked as an educational specialist for special needs students for PUSD.
