The Poppies
Again to all of the firefighting personnel who are doing everything they can to protect lives and property threatened by numerous wildfires under extremely difficult conditions and with limited resources.
To the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Aid program and Porterville Area Council for coordinating a large food donation in which two shipments of 24 pallets of food will be provided for those in need in the area. Also th the Porterville Sheltered Workshop as its warehouse is being used to store the food.
To all those in the production of Cyrano De Bergerac at the Barn Theater as the Barn Theater has returned to performing plays for the community.
To Sierra View Medical Center registered nurses Melissa Cabeje and Sherri Gray, the hospital’s two Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists who review patient medical records to ensure documentation of patient conditions and treatment plans. This past week ahs been Clinical Documentation Integrity Week.
To all those who are dedicated in their work to suicide prevention as this month is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
To the Porterville Department for receiving a $1.5 million federal SAFER grant to hire six more firefighters. The grant will pay for the salaries for the firefighters over the next three years.
