Frances Nadine Borba

Frances Nadine Borba passed away peacefully on November 3, 2021 at the age of 86. She was born on August 21, 1935 to John X. and Mary L. Bettencour­t in Tulare, California. She graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1953. Two weeks later she married the love of her life, Frank G. Borba Jr., on June 24, 1953. Together they had five children, Susanna, Frank, Chris, Eric, and Mary. Nadine and her husband had a dairy farm where they raised their children. They were married for 49 years.

Nadine was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, LUSO American Council #6, and SPRSI.

Nadine was the first S.P.D.E.S. Portuguese Queen of Tipton in 1949. Nadine’s daughters,

granddaugh­ters and great-granddaugh­ters were all S.P.D.E.S. queens. Her great-granddaugh­ter, Morgan Mattos, will be the upcoming S.P.D.E.S. Portuguese Queen of Tipton in 2022.

Nadine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r. She loved when her grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren came to visit her. The family would like to thank Bonnie Coito for helping mom throughout the years. The family would also like to thank Melissa Boland and Michelle Grant for their compassion­ate care that they provided to our mom.

Survivors include her daughter Susanna and her husband Tony Sozinho of Tulare, her son Frank and his wife Ana of Portervill­e, her son Chris and his wife Carla of Tipton, her son Eric and his wife Caron of Portervill­e, and her daughter Mary and her husband John Pimentel of Hanford; her grandchild­ren Angela Mendoza, Marydonna Mattos, Antoinette Gomes, Frank X. Borba Jr., Elyse Degroot, Joseph Borba, John Borba, Brandi Borba, Eric F. Borba, John Paul Pimentel, Jacob Pimentel, Joshua Pimentel, Joseph Pimentel, Jared Pimentel, and Jordan Pimentel; her great-grandchild­ren Bryce Billingsle­y, Hennasey Mendoza, Wyatt Mendoza, Morgan Mattos, Meghan Mattos, Mason Mattos, Michael Gomes, Avelina Gomes, William Gomes, Brooklyn Degroot, Louis Jacob Degroot, Justin Borba, Olivia Borba, Peyton Borba, Braydon Pimentel,

and Rhett Pimentel, 1 great-great-grandson James Lee Borba; her sister Rose Marie Avila (Bill), her brother Anthony Bettencour­t (Nilza), her sister Carmen Pereira (Manuel), her sister Veronica Coelho (John), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank G. Borba Jr., her grandson Jimmy Borba, her parents John X. and Mary L. Bettencour­t, her brother Johnny Bettencour­t and her niece Michelle Castle.

The Recitation of the Rosary will be held Sunday, November 21st at 3:00 p.m. at Myers Funeral Service and Crematory, 248 North E Street, Portervill­e. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 378 North F Street, Portervill­e. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anne’s Parish, 378 North F Street, Portervill­e, Ca 93257 or the donor’s favorite charity.
