Glad traditional Santa Clara-inglewood rivalry revived

It’s been a few years now that the NFL has restored the traditional rivalry of the San Francisco 49ers facing the Los Angeles Rams.

I’m so glad the tradition is back in which the San Francisco 49ers host the Los Angeles Rams in Santa Clara and the Los Angeles Rams host the San Francisco 49ers in Inglewood. Actually I don’t care where they play as long as its THE San Francisco 49ers playing against THE Los Angeles Rams.

They play again on Sunday in Los Angeles, er, Inglewood. So I had to do a double take when I saw the pick of Mary Quijas of Juicy Burger Catering, a long-time Los Angeles Rams fan, one of the loyalist Rams fans I know.

She’s picking the 49ers. WHAT?

I could understand it at least a little bit if the 49ers and Rams were playing in San Francisco, er, Santa Clara. But with the Rams hosting the 49ers in L.A., er, Inglewood,

I didn’t think she would be ready to jump ship just yet.

I have to admit, though, when it comes to the pride that’s on the line in this Prognosticators contest even though I consider myself one of the loyalist 49er fans there is, I’ve gone against the 49ers at times in the past.

So winning is more important than loyalty. But there’s no way I’m picking against the 49ers this week. Even though there on the road in L.A., er, Inglewood.

Anyway, we all still have a shot at this thing. J.R. Flores of J.R.’S Barbershop is still in first at 48-32. David Horowitz of Horowitz Jewelers continues to show the Autumn Wind is a Jeweler and is right behind at 45-35.

The Mary and yours truly are just five games back at 43-37.

And f Alex Larson doesn’t spend too much time with his beard, he’s within “striking distance” as the broadcasters who use too many cliches love to say at 4139.
