Thomas Keith Means Dec. 14, 1951 - Sept. 21, 2022

-

Born on December 14th, 1951 in Porterville California amidst orange groves and into a family who shared a love of the outdoors and motor sports, Thomas Keith Means was destined to enjoy a life of adventure. And he did. He grew up riding trail bikes amidst the orange groves of Strathmore, using them to help his father lay irrigation pipes in the family orchard. He lived in Alaska for a few decades enjoying ATVS, Flying Ultralights, Snowmobiling and Camping deep in the woods. When he was in the military in Germany, he toured Europe by car on his time off. He took up flying and logged multiple happy hours in a Cessna. Even going so far as to survive a plane crash (Self admittedly of his own doing!) he lived to joke about it for years that followed. He always had at least one motorcycle in his garage at any given time. He kept them washed and fueled up and ready for a drive up into the mountains where he'd enjoy impetuous overnight camping adventures wherever he desired. He had a camper that gave him a bit more range, and he'd take it even further. He was a man who's heart was always on the go and he documented it all through his love of photography. Always taking beautiful scenic photos and turning them into art that he'd gift to his family. We're thankful for the care Anna, his fiancée, and her daughter Carla provided to keep him safe and comfortable over the last year and a half as complications from his fight with Leukemia in 2018 caught up with him in his final days. Tom leaves behind his son Keith Friesen (his wife Monica), and his granddaughter Tess Friesen. His sister Kathy Means Rude (and husband Jim), niece and nephew Allison Rude and Ben Rude. As well as his other nephews Levi Nichols (wife Kat) and Zach Nichols (wife Rebecca). We take comfort knowing he's joined his parents Sadie and Leroy, his brother Mike and his sister Bonnie whom he hasn't seen in a very long time.
