Sulochana Sampath Feb 04, 1943 - Nov 22, 2022
Sulochana Sampath was born on February 4th, 1943 in Madras, India. Married to Dr. Srinivas 'Sam' Sampath in 1967, she raised two children in Porterville, Deepak and Rajesh. The family came to Porterville in 1977.
Sue - as she was known - was a generous spirit who gave to all and expected nothing in return. She made no distinctions between people regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, and class and conferred love and respect to all she met.
Sue's passions were in gardening and quilting for which she was recognized several times for her work and the impact it had on others. About ten years ago, the Porterville Recorder did a story on her garden. Her home and her garden were her life into which she poured her boundless energy, creativity, and love.
Sue was an adventurous spirit who liked to travel around the world. She was fond of conveying stories about her travels and all the peoples and cultures she encountered. She was fearless in trying new things, and she respected all cultures, traditions, and religions.
Sue will be missed most of all for the service she provided to others in need or crisis. They could always come to her if they had a problem or needed life-changing advice.
Sue is survived by her husband, Dr. Sam Sampath, her son, Deepak and his wife Tina, her second son, Rajesh and his wife, Sarah, and their daughter, Maryam. She is also survived by her two sisters, Vasantha Tholasiram and Dr. Krishna Tholasiram, who live just a few houses away from hers.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00am on Dec. 1st, 2022 at Myer's Funeral Service and Crematory at 248 North E St., Porterville, Ca, 93257. This will be followed by a religious service and lunch starting at 10:30am at the Sikh Center Porterville on 1250 West-north Grand Ave., Porterville, Ca, 93257.
