Julia Hernandez

Julia Hernandez of Porterville was born on May 19, 1942, to Ramon Ramon and Maria Del Pilar Ruiz in Corpus Christi, Texas. On January 22, 2023 at the age of 80, the Lord called her home. Julia was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, a fun-loving grandma, a caring sister & aunt and simply a passionate, strong minded spirit. She was a registered nurse in the Porterville area for over 35 years where she met many lifelong friends and acquaintances along the way. Anyone that had the pleasure in knowing her knows that she loved the state of Texas, loved dancing and listening to Tejano music, spending time with her grandsons & attending their school activities, loved baking for her family and enjoyed her travels with her husband especially to the casinos, just to name a few. Julia was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Cruz Hernandez Jr., her two sons; Cruz Ill and Isaac (Roselle) Hernandez, her five grandsons; Cruz IV, Christian, Brandon, Andrew and Noah along with her siblings; Pedro "Pete"

(Luisa) Ruiz from Rancho Cordova, CA., Stella Salazar from Texas, Alma

(Cedric) Potts from Carson, CA., Gloria Monday from Reno, NV and Albertico Ruiz from Dallas, TX. Besides her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her six brothers; Ramon Ruiz Jr., Gilbert Ruiz, Juan "Johnny" Ruiz, Richard Ruiz, Ramiro Ruiz and Romero Ruiz along with her two sisters, Maria De Jesus Ruiz and Yolanda Miller.

Julia's celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Porterville Veteran's Memorial Building, 1900 West Olive Ave. Floral arrangements can be delivered between the hours of 9am - noon on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023 to this location.
