The game started quickly with a back and forth layup by both teams and then the Cardinals Mark Sobrepena was passed the ball by Alexander Salinas and nailed a 3-pointer. The Grizzlies weren’t to be outdone though and a 3-pointer from Angel Perez tied the game up 5-5 with 5:49 left in the first quarter. Blas Diaz had the next Grizzly basket as he was passed the ball by Daniel Ramirez. Diaz slipped through the Cardinals defense and managed to get the layup for two. The Cardinals Salinas followed with a sprint as he pushed the ball up the court. Salinas stopped early and managed to juke his defender for a jump shot he nailed. The Cardinals Bryan Valenzuela brought the ball out and tied the game up again with a jump shot for two.

The Cardinals were in the lead at the end of the first quarter 14-11. A long play by the Grizzlies Miguel Martinez brought the ball into play with a pass to Cruz Campos. The Cardinalssalinas made a steal and passed to Sebastian Madrigal who nailed a 3-point shot.

With 6:39 remaining in the first half the Cardinals were up 17-11 and the Grizzlies had a hard time responding. The Cardinals Valenzuela nailed a running layup after a pass by Sobrepena. This continued with a turnaround layup by Johan Tello and a basket from Salinas bringing the second quarter to an end with Lindsay leading 30-18.

The halftime did some wonders for the Grizzlies as they came back into the third quarter ready and raring to go. Daniel Ramirez brought the ball around and over to Diaz. Diaz had a keen eye out for Perez and he tossed the ball over the Cardinals heads and into his hands. Perez was at the line and nailed his 3-point shot. Another Grizzly 3-pointer came from Diaz right after a rebound from Alcantar.

The final quarter was a tight one as both teams came into it with a fire inside. The first basket was a layup by Perez for the Grizzlies that was then responded by the Cardinals with a layup of their own by Valenzuela.

Miguel Martinez for the Grizzlies came out around the Cardinals defense and caught a pass from Jose Medina. Martinez had to be careful as he ran to the three point line and nailed the shot.

Now with the game neck and neck with a score of 50-50, both teams were frantic. There was only 57 seconds left on the clock and the Cardinals had possession. As the Cardinals moved up to the Grizzlies basket they missed a shot and it was rebounded by the Grizzlies Perez. Perez sprinted down the court with Cardinals hot on his heels. Perez made a big leap and layup as the buzzer sounded ending the game with a narrow Grizzly victory at 52-50.
