Rhea Alean Ballew passed away on March 4, 2023. Rhea was born in Exeter, California on February 9, 1926, to Charles and Mabel Hudson. Rhea graduated from Exeter High School where she lettered on the tennis team.

Rhea married Albert Grimsley and they raised their four children on a ranch just outside of Woodville, California. Rhea loved watching her son play baseball; she even was the score keeper for a lot of his games. She took her daughters to their dance lessons and was involved in her children's 4-H projects. Rhea also loved all of her fur babies, of which she had many. She was a very hard working person as she would help her husband out on the ranch. She even picked cotton while taking care of her children out in the field. She was a secretary at a cotton gin and at a feed lot.

Rhea later married Jerry Ballew, with whom she loved to travel with. They were blessed to have seen a lot of the country. They lived in California, New Mexico and Nevada.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jerry Ballew, her son James Grimsley and his wife Elvia, daughters Donetta Gibson and Joann Crabtree. Stepchildr­en Mark Ballew and his wife Rena, Jeff Ballew, Jerry Ballew and Cindy Silva. She had many grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren and great great grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Hudson and Mabel Anderson, her sister, Meryl Jordan, daughter, Alberta Main, sons-in-law Darrel Crabtree and Paul Gibson.

Rhea will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A celebratio­n of life will be held at a later date.
