Laube carries UNH past Dartmouth

Senior back rushes for 180 yards, scores two TDs

DURHAM – Senior captain Dylan Laube rushed for 180 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the 11th-ranked University of New Hampshire football team to Saturday night’s 24-7 victory against Dartmouth College at Wildcat Stadium. UNH retains the Granite Bowl with the win.

UNH has a 21-19-2 edge in the all-time series against intrastate rival Dartmouth.

Laube also had six catches for 31 yards and three punt returns for 12 yards for a total of 223 all-purpose yards. In strong winds, junior captain Max Brosmer was limited to 11-for-23 passing for 67 yards and a TD.

Randall Harris blocked a 44-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter and also had an intercepti­on. Max Oxendi had seven tackles and an INT. Joe Eichman finished with a team-high eight tackles. Isaac Seide had UNH’s other takeaway when he recovered a muffed kickoff at the start of the third quarter.

Dartmouth quarterbac­k Nick Howard was the Big Green’s top ground gainer with 10 rushes for 62 yards. Q Jones had 14 carries for 55 yards and scored DC’s lone touchdown. Dylan Cadwallade­r completed 16 of 30 passes for 195 yards. Both Howard and Cadwallade­r threw an INT. Paxton Scott was the top target with 10 catches for 153 yards. Braden Mullen led all players with 10 tackles, including two tackles for loss.

New Hampshire visits the University of Delaware Saturday for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

UNH Notebook

● The 33 rushes were a career high for Laube. Both his six catches and 31 receiving yards were team highs.

● Laube entered UNH’s Top 10 list for career rushing yards with 2,327; he supplanted Avrom Smith (1991-94), who had 2,237.

● Harris leads all active Wildcats with seven career intercepti­ons.

● It was the first career INT for Oxendine.

● Dartmouth had a 314-274 edge in total yards.

● UNH recorded three takeaways and did not commit a giveaway.
