-

NEWINGTON – The Seacoast Chabad Jewish Center is taking a powerful stance in support of the 224 Israeli hostages, spanning all ages from infants to seniors, who have been held captive in Gaza for the past 20 days. In a heartwarming display of solidarity, the Center put together “The Empty Shabbat Table” initiative, symbolizing the community’s heartfelt desire for the safe return of every individual.

At the core of this initiative is “The Empty Shabbat Table,” an intricately set table representing each of the 224 hostages, encompassing the youngest babies and the eldest seniors. This poignant display serves as a moving reminder of the hardships these individuals endure and an earnest plea for their swift and secure release.

Rabbi Berel Slavaticki, spiritual leader of the Seacoast Chabad Jewish Center, underscores the unity of the community, stating, “The Empty Shabbat Table stands as a symbol of our unwavering support for every hostage in Gaza, irrespective of age. Each unoccupied seat signifies a life disrupted, and we collectively call for their swift and safe return.”

Slavaticki added that we should all fill our homes and and add more good deeds for the return of our hostages.

During the Shabbat Candle Lighting Unity, please research another hostage’s life and talk about their story with your family.

The Seacoast Chabad Jewish Center warmly invites all community members to join in this heartfelt act of solidarity. The Center will organize events to raise awareness about the hostages’ plight and the pressing need for their release.
