Climate Action Fair returns to York High School
YORK — York Ready for Climate Action, York Public Library and the York Recycling Committee are hosting their second annual Climate Action Fair on March 23.
The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at York High School.
The Climate Action Fair is an inclusive, volunteer-led event that aims to increase awareness about sustainable approaches to living and how to reduce emissions to benefit our communities and planet.
The fair will spotlight home energy efficiency and electrification, bringing vendors who install heat pumps, residential solar panels, electric vehicle chargers and weatherization upgrades. It will feature electric car test drives, electric bikes, reusable and refillable personal care products and native plants.
Local nonprofits like York Land Trust and The Center for Wildlife will be in attendance, as well as representatives for York’s town committees, sustainable businesses, youth programs and garden centers.
Residents who have already completed home energy retrofits will be on hand to answer questions and discuss lessons they have learned on their own projects.
Art created by elementary school students from York will be on display at the fair. Games and activities for children are a big part of the fun.
The event will offer free snacks, and every family that comes through the door will be able to enter to win door prizes.
