Jones, Elder Jesse

Born on August 16, 1950 in Gary, Indiana to Jesse Sr. and Madeline Jones. Jesse transitioned from this world to a place of eternal peace, after a lingering illness on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at home with his family and friends at his bedside. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of Embassies of Christ Church. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1969. Jesse worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for various companies and his current employment was with Mittal Steel in East Chicago, Indiana. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed all his fishing trips to Michigan, but his first Love was teaching the word of God and being with his family.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Madeline Jones; brothers, Harvey Burrell, Jerry Jones, and Alfred Jones. Jesse leaves to cherish his memories Joanne Jones, his devoted wife; father, Jesse Jones Sr., both of Gary, Indiana; son, Terrance Jones; daughter, Tiffani Jones of Austin, TX; sisters, Sandra Lewis, Patricia Ward of Fort Wayne, IN, Katherine Humphrey, Carrie Jones of Gary, IN; Nancy (Willie) Jackson of Dallas, TX; brother, Anthony (June) Jones of Gary, IN; stepdaughter, Carlissa Williams of Gary, IN; 7 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation Friday, January 2, 2015 from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. family hour 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Funeral services Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Embassies of Christ Church, 4231 Cleveland St. Officiating Pastor Cedric Oliver. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
