Giannis Antetokoun­mpo’s historic year earned him a historic sweep.

The Bucks forward is the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the second consecutiv­e season, receiving that award Friday. He earlier received the Defensive Player of the Year award.

The 25-year-old Antetokoun­mpo, who averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game, becomes just the third player in league history to win MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season, joining Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon.

Auto racing: Chase Briscoe passed Austin Cindric with five laps remaining at Bristol Motor Speedway to win the final regular-season race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series . ... Indianapol­is Motor Speedway will open to spectators for the IndyCar doublehead­er Oct. 3-4, allowing up to 10,000 fans each day.
