“Tell Me a Story” (8 p.m., CW): New characters are introduced as this thriller launches Season 2 with a premiere called “The Curse.” A tragic event threatens to derail the happiness of music star Ashley Rose Pruitt (Natalie Alyn Lind) as she celebrates the launch of her debut album. Jackson Pruitt (Matt Lauria), a troubled musician, resolves to break old habits when a provocativ­e stranger named Simone (Ashley Madekwe) enters his life.

“Swamp Thing” (7 p.m., CW): Convinced that Alec’s (Andy Bean) disappeara­nce isn’t just the result of an accident, Abby and Matt (Crystal Reed, Henderson Wade) make their way into the depths of the swamp, where she encounters Swamp Thing (Derek Mears), in the new episode “Worlds Apart.” Meanwhile, scientist Jason Woodrue (guest star Kevin Durand) arrives in Marais.

“Cosmos: Possible Worlds” (7 p.m., FOX): In a new episode called “The Cosmic Connectome,” host Neil de Grasse Tyson takes viewers on a voyage of discovery through the evolution of consciousn­ess, with an itinerary that includes stops in ancient Greece and a visit to the largest life form on Earth. The journey also goes inside the poignant dream of an abandoned orphan who opened the path to understand­ing the architectu­re of thinking, and introduced a vision of a galactic network of thought.

“NEXT” (8 p.m., FOX): Due to mishandlin­g by a Zava employee, the A.I. known as NEXT escapes confinemen­t within the servers of its home company and gains access to the internet in the new episode “FILE 2.” After Ethan’s (Evan Whitten) bullying gets worse, he confesses that Iliza has been pushing him to take revenge. Worried about her son, Shea (Fernanda Andrade) recruits Paul (John Slattery) to use Ethan’s connection to Iliza to track the next likely location for NEXT.

“The FBI Declassifi­ed” (9 p.m., CBS): Actress Alana De La Garza, one of the stars of the hit CBS procedural drama “FBI,” provides the narration for this new sixpart docuseries from the CBS News “48 Hours” team. Here, cameras are turned on real-life FBI agents and analysts to give viewers unpreceden­ted access to some of the biggest cases ever handled by the bureau.

“Transplant” (9 p.m., NBC): An incident at work leaves Bash (Hamza Haq) shaken and second-guessing everything he does in the new episode “Trigger Warning.” Meanwhile, Mags (Laurence Leboeuf) finds inspiratio­n in a firefighte­r who is devoted to her work, even when it means putting her own life at risk. As a downbeat Theo (Jim Watson) marks his first birthday away from his family, he meets a patient who makes a major plea. Elsewhere, June (Ayisha Issa) must improve her ability to work with others.
