“NCIS” (7 p.m., CBS): After two dead bodies are found in an otherwise idyllic forest, an investigat­ion by members of the NCIS team soon draws them into the strange and surprising­ly wild world of modern-day treasure hunting in the new episode “Blood and Treasure.” Elsewhere, Gibbs and Fornell (Mark Harmon, recurring guest star Joe Spano) make their way deeper into their own search for an opioid kingpin.

“Swamp Thing” (7 p.m., CW): Facing new pressures from Dr. Palomar (guest star Adrienne Barbeau) and executives at the CDC, Abby (Crystal Reed) returns to Atlanta, where she is confronted by Nathan Ellery (guest star Michael Beach) and the Conclave in the new episode “Long Walk Home.” Elsewhere, after Swamp Thing (Derek Mears) helps an injured man, the latter vows to return soon and help develop a cure to the mysterious swamp malady.

“A Christmas Carol” (7 p.m., TCM): Many people consider this 1938 version their favorite screen adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. Count June Lockhart (“Lost in Space”) among them: She made her film debut at age 12 as one of the children of Bob and Emily Cratchit, played by her real-life parents, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart. Reginald Owen stars as Christmas-hating curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge.

“FBI” (8 p.m., CBS): After they apprehend the leader of a violent drug cartel, the entire staff at FBI headquarte­rs finds itself at risk as the felon’s henchmen make an attempt to free one of the most wanted men in the world in the new episode “Liar’s Poker.” Meanwhile, Isobel (Alana De La Garza) is forced to consider a difficult choice to sacrifice either her conscience or her career.

“Transplant” (8 p.m., NBC): This Canadian import wraps up its first successful season on NBC with two back-to-back episodes, starring with “Relapse,” which finds Bash (Hamza Haq) treating a young mother addicted to opioids. First, though, he must discern whether her current grave condition means she is using again or something else is causing her dramatic symptoms.

“Murder in the Heartland” (9 p.m., 1 a.m., ID): This true crime series, in which murders are chronicled from the viewpoints of townspeopl­e in the communitie­s where the killings occurred, returns for Season 3 with “The Farmer’s Daughter,” set in the small college town of Valley City, N.D. The locals are shocked when two friends discover student Mindy Morgenster­n fatally stabbed and strangled in her apartment.
