Hess, Barbara E.

Barbara E. Hess made her transition on December 16, 2020 at 75 years of age. She was born to parents Tommy and Mamie Hess. She was the oldest of six children and accepted Christ at the tender age of six. Barbara graduated from Froebel High School, Class of “66”. She was united in holy matrimony to William E. Goosby Sr. From that union four children were created. Barbara worked as a CNA at Glen Oaks Nursing Home for 17 years. She gave dedicated care to all of her patients. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a southern girl at heart who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, dancing, and singing in the choir. Barbara was preceded in death by grandparents Willie (Pauline) Ballard; parents Tommy ( Mamie) Hess; brothers Stanley Hess, Kenny Hess, Johnny Hess; sister Gwendolyn Phillips. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted brother Tommy (Christine) Hess, loving children William E. Goosby Jr. of Huber Heights, Ohio; Twuana Goosby of Merriville, IN; Latricia Goosby of Indianapolis, IN; and Javan Goosby of Crown Point, IN; two grandsons Trenell Goosby and Javan Herbert of Germany and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 9am – 11am at Greater First Baptist Church, 4862 Olcott Ave. East Chicago, Indiana.
