Alfaro, Maria Rosa P.

Maria Rosa P. Alfaro, age 97 of Lake Station passed away Monday, January 11, 2021. She was born on August 30, 1923 in Chamacuaro, Mexico to the late Refugio and Nicolasa Parra. She was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station. Rosa enjoyed gardening, cooking, and caring for her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, John Alfaro of Lake Station, IN; Michael Alfaro of Hobart, IN; Refugio Alfaro of Chicago, IL; Godelvia Alfaro of Valparaiso, IN; Adislado Alfaro of Chicago, IL; Hector Alfaro of Portage, IN; “Aurora” (Raul) Insurriaga of Chicago, IL; Trinidad (Linda) Alfaro of Hobart, IN; Ruben Alfaro of Gary, IN; Antonio (Julia) Alfaro of Lake Station, IN; and Cathy Butner of Chicago, IL; and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Trinadad Alfaro in 1982, and two sons, Manuel Alfaro, Jesus Alfaro. Funeral services are Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 10 a.m. mass directly at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station with Rev. David Kime officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial of Cremains will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
