Hammonds Jr. , Pastor Rozelle

Pastor Emeritus Rozelle Hammonds, Jr. of Gary, Indiana made his peaceful transition on Monday November 8, 2021 in Highland Indiana. He was a life-long member of Saints’ Home COGIC, where he pastored for 25 years. He was the owner of Esquire Men’s Store in Gary, Indiana. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University Northwest and later attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. He was born to loving parents Rozelle and Willa Mae Hammonds, Sr. on May 15, 1931, whom preceded him in death. He was united in holy matrimony to his high school sweetheart Gladys Marcella Crawford on August 10, 1950, a union of fifty-eight years, until Mother Hammonds death on October 3, 2008. To this union was born 5 boys; Adm. Asst. Rozelle (Ruby) Hammonds III of Houston, Texas; Pastor Richard K. Hammonds (Gospel Experience Church) of Peoria, IL; Peter (Vivian) Hammonds, Merrillville, IN; Pastor Frank (Denine) Hammonds, (Miracle Do Happen Ministries) of Little Elm, Texas; Pastor Marcus (Alexis) Hammonds (Saints’ Home COGIC) of Munster, IN. He survived by 1 sister, Virgie (Roger) Paige of Gary, Indiana, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, friends and his Saints’ Home, Gospel Experience and Miracles Do Happen Ministries families. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jesse Hammonds, Frank Hammonds, Willie C. Hammonds and I sister, Emma Murphy of Gary, Indiana. Visitation Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m. all services at Saints Home COGIC, 833 E. 21st Avenue, Gary, IN. 46407. Pastor Marcus J. Hammonds officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
