Wanda Jean Robinson was born on September 19, 1950, in Gary, Indiana. She attended and graduated from Froebel High School. After which, she was employed at The Steel Mill and later the local cable company before relocating to Milwaukee to help her aunt, Eddie Mae care for her ailing cousin Lauren Mitchell. Never having any children of her own, she loved, nurtured, and raised her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She had an eye for fashion and was the life of any and EVERY party she attended. Her catch phrase “hey naa” was known by all that knew her and was often used as her name when she walked in the building! She was employed at Ameritech/ SBC in Milwaukee for over 20 years before retiring. Being the strong woman that she was, she was the ROCK and backbone for her family. Often being the one called on to help and she never not answered that call. Wanda was preceded in death by her mom Doris Spearman, dad Howard Cooper Sr, sister Toni Cooper and brother Howard Cooper Jr. As well as her two aunts Eddie Mae Mitchell and Othadean Weakley that she cared for until both of their last days.She leaves to mourn 3 devoted nieces, Tracy Cooper, Yolanda “Yad” Cooper and Tina Marie who she affectiona­tely called “Dr Phylliss in her later years of life as well as 3 nephews Howard “Rico” Cooper, Roosevelt “Rudy” Cooper and Chris Anthony Cooper. In addition, she had 5 great nieces; Destiny, Aireonna, Danielle, Harmony and Maxyia. 4 great nephews; Desmond, Aireon, Ardeen and Brennen and a host of other friends who became family. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Peace of Mind Funeral Home 5325 W. Greenfield Avenue in Milwaukee, WI 53214.
