Wine & Canvas

Participan­ts sip and create from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 7 at Bulldog Park in Crown Point. Registrati­on is $40. At 183 S. West St. in the upstairs community room. 219-662-3290; crownpoint.in.gov.

Guests will paint a pair of wine glasses and the evening includes a compliment­ary glass of wine or nonalcohol­ic beverage of choice. Class space is limited.

Dance ensemble

Students at Valparaiso University star and step into the spotlight at 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at VU Center for the Arts.

Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for senior citizens with ages 12 and younger free with an adult admission. At 1709 Chapel Drive in the VU Theatre. 219-464-5162; valpo.edu/vuca.

As many as 60 student talents are showcased annually in this revue of clever and unique themes blended with music and combined with the innovative choreograp­hy for the two-hour performanc­e.

Brass quintet concert

Five featured musicians from the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra perform an intimate concert at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster. Greg Fudala and Bill Camp on trumpets with John Schreckeng­ost on horn and Tom Stark on trombone join Darren Castellano­s on bass trombone perform a mix of classical and contempora­ry romantic musical selections at for a Sunday afternoon performanc­e intended as an early Valentine’s Day treat.
