There will be a youth baseball camp at the Wister baseball field Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This camp is for boys entering grades three through six.

The cost is $40 and includes a T-shirt and lunch for each day. High-school and college athletes will provide instructio­n.

Boys will receive instructio­n for proper mechanics, in-game situations and techniques and participat­e in position drills, group sessions, scrimmages and games.

The Carl Albert State College baseball team will have a prospect showcase for Classes 2022-25 on July 19 at 1 p.m. at Mark Pollard Field. The cost is $40 per player

The Poteau Wrestling Camp at CASC’s Mick Thompson Fieldhouse will be Wednesday through Friday with a 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. session, an hourlong lunch break and a 1-3 p.m. session.

The counselors are CASC head coach Jake Lords and Oklahoma State University wrestlers Luke Mechler and Luke Surber.

The camp costs $75 to be paid on Wednesday and is open to kindergart­eners to 12th-graders.

Pocola Indian Little League Football will begin conditioni­ng July 18 with sessions Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m. Children can sign up at the sessions that week. Anyone with questions can contact Josh Merritt at 479-420-5482.

Oklahoma Coaches Associatio­n All-State: Poteau football head coach Greg Werner will be inducted into the OCA Hall of Fame on July 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Southern Hills Marriott Hotel in Tulsa. Pocola’s Raychel Nelke will play in the All-State Golf Tournament on July 25 at 8 a.m. at Cherokee Hills Golf Club in Catoosa. Howe’s Shiloh Fletcher and Raelyn Delt along with Pocola’s Mika Scott will play for Small East in the Small-School Girls Basketball All-State Game at the Frank Herald Field House in Jenks on July 27 at 7 p.m. Poteau’s Dean Odom and Todd Mattox will play for the East Team with Mike Odom on the coaching staff in the AllState Football Game on July 29 at 7 p.m.

The PARC will have its youth co-ed softball tournament on July 30.

The cost is $100 for T-ball and 8-and-younger teams and $125 for 10-and-younger to 14-andyounger teams.

Teams should have a minimum of 10 players, split between boys and girls.

The annual Hevener Round-up Club Rodeo will be Aug. 5-6 at the Cecil Leachman Arena in Heavener at 8 p.m. both days.

The cost is $8 for attendees 13 and older and $5 for children ages 5-12 and free for children ages 4 and younger.

Events include saddle bronc, ranch bronc, bareback riding, tie-down roping, breakaway, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding.

There will also be mutton bustin each night at 7 p.m., junior barrel, peewee barrel and a rodeo parade is 4 p.m. Aug. 6 in downtown Heavener.
