County Commissioners to meet Monday morning Thursday Storm Damage

-

It will be a short agenda for the LeFlore County Commissioners with which to deal in their weekly meeting at 9 a.m. Monday at the LeFlore County Court House.

The three main items to discuss and/ or take action on will be to possibly approve Kiamichi Economic Development District of Oklahoma (KEDDO) Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) closeout documents and an affidavit certifying the completion of the Hodgen Road project, to possibly approve a resolution regarding out-of-state travel for county employees and officers of county offices and to possibly approve a resolution to allow LeFlore County Treasurer April Caughern to reinvest surplus of LeFlore County Health Department funds for August.

The agenda item dealing with the outof-state travel stemmed from Wednesday morning’s LeFlore County Budget Board meeting at the LeFlore County Court House. While other board members such as Caughern, LeFlore County Clerk Kelli Ford and LeFlore County Court Clerk Mindy White all mentioned that none of their staff went out of state for training, seminars, classes, etc …, LeFlore County Assessor Gaylon E. Freeman said that some of the training, seminars, classes, etc … take place in other out-of-state locations, such as Little Rock and Hot Springs in Arkansas, due to being closer than going to the Oklahoma City metropolitan area or are not offered but only in out-of-state locations.

The County Commissioners also are expected to approve purchase orders, payroll, bonds, monthly fee reports, transfer of appropriations, blanket purchase orders, contract labor/service agreements, and the two ongoing bridge construction projects — one a mile east of Shady Point over the Poteau River and the other on Brazil Creek Road south of Oklahoma State Highway 31 and west of Shady Point.

The board also may decide whether to continue the burn ban or cancel it. Such information for making that decision will be given to the board by LeFlore County Emergency Management Director Dennis Yochum.

If there is any old or new business and/ or any pay estimates due Robinson Construction for its work on the final phase of the Conser Road Project, the Commissioners are expected to take care of such matters.
