Girls basketball LeFlore wins FSBC opener in OT; RO, BV also win quarterfin­als

LeFlore won its Farmers State Bank Classic first-rounder in Quinton on Thursday in overtime 4342 against Wright City.

LeFlore (8-4) led 10-5 at the end of the first quarter, 17-9 at halftime and 28-27 through three quarters before ending regulation tied 33-all with Wright City.

Piper Warren scored five of LeFlore’s 10 points in overtime to finish with 22 points.

River Cogburn added 11 points while Trystan Kirkes and Alyssa Waits each had four.

Red Oak beat Lakewood Christian 82-30.

Presley McClary led the way with 19 points while Kaylee Cannon had 15, Kaytee Hood had 14, Farrah Hempfling had nine and Lexi Ober had eight.

Buffalo Valley won its quarterfin­al 40-15 against McCurtain.

BV led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter, 16-2 at halftime and 25-10 through three quarters.

Mykayla Hayes led BV with 16 points while Courtney Grey and Kelsey Cauthron each had seven.

Jerica Baker led McCurtain with seven points.

Panama falls at FSBC

Panama lost its firstround­er 43-32 to Quinton.

Panama trailed 8-7 at the end of the first quarter, 15-12 at halftime and 3316 through three quarters.

Koda Robbins led Panama with 18 points.

Spiro beats Okay

Spiro beat Okay 33-27 in the first round of the Warrior Eagle Cherokee Classic on Thursday.

Spiro led 8-7 at the end of the first quarter, 1711 at halftime and 26-16 through three quarters.

Brynleigh Graham led Spiro with nine points while Kambrie Rogers had eight and Madilyn Lovell had six.

Talihina starts with loss to Silo at Kingston

Talihina lost its Kingston New Year Classic quarterfin­al 59-23 to Silo on Thursday.

Wister beat Battiest 4746 in its Arkansas River Shootout first-round game on Thursday in Webbers Falls. Kinley Branscum and Kinzie Duncan tied to lead the team with 16 points.Mia McGowen had nine points.

in ARS opener

Whitesboro (12-1) won its Arkansas River Shootout first-round game 9420 against Watts on Thursday.

After a 32-0 first-quarter shootout, Whitesboro led 55-11 at halftime and 78-18 through three quarters.

Katie Long led Whitesboro with 25 points while Kayleigh Walker had 18 points, Addison Walker had 14 points, Linley Collins had 11, Madison Grogan had 10 and Darah and Maura Cole both had five.

Arkoma falls at JHCC

Arkoma lost its firstround game 55-14 to Chattanoog­a at the Jeff Hart Coliseum Classic in Lawton on Thursday.

Arkoma trailed 38-8 at halftime. Abby Kolb had six points and two rebounds. Grace had two points and five rebounds.

In its consolatio­n semifinal on Friday, Arkoma lost 49-42 against Cement.

Arkoma trailed 28-25 at halftime.

Kiarra Botler had 14 poitns and seven rebounds. Kolb had 15 points and three steals. Kaitlyn Glasgow had six points, nine rebounds, four steals and four assists.

Red Oak beats LeFlore; Panama, BV win in FSBC openers

Red Oak beat LeFlore 52-35 in their Farmers State Bank Classic firstround­er on Thursday.

Red Oak led 19-7 at the end of the first quarter, 2812 at halftime and 40-27 through three quarters.

For Red Oak, Reed Kauk and Trevor Lyons each had 12 points while Denver Hamilton had 11 and Reese Allen had eight.

Bo Dacus led LeFlore (6-6) with 11 points while Braden Pritchett had eight and Rabbit Holly and Cameron Green each had five.

Panama won its firstround­er 53-45 against Quinton.

The Razorbacks led 13-9 at the end of the first quarter, 27-17 at halftime and 35-27 through three quarters.

Brex Caldwell led Panama with 17 points while Gavin Gotes had 15 points and Malachi Releford and Zach Bell each had six.

Bulldogs drop WECC opener to Cougars

Spiro lost its Warner Eagle Cherokee Classic first-rounder 66-37 to Keys on Thursday.

Spiro trailed17-9 at the end of the first quarter, 4119 at halftime and 54-29 through three quarters.

Brycen Graham led Spiro with eight points while Zander Riggs had seven, Bryson Spears had six and Tommy Worton had five.

Golden Tigers fall in opener at Kingston

Talihina lost its Kingston New Years Classic first-rounder 72-33 to Dale on Thursday.

Kaidon Potts led the Golden Tigers with 13 points while Ramses Hernandez, Isaiah Lloyd and Eric Rose each had four points.

McCurtain lost its firstround­er in the Farmers State Bank Classic 61-54 to Wright City on Thursday.

McCurtain stood within 14-13 at the end of the first quarter before trailing 31-24 at halftime and 4642 through three quarters. Luke Sandlin led McCurtain with 16 points while Zane Cooper had 14 and Brayden Ward had 11.

BV hits century mark

Buffalo Valley beat Lakewood Christian 10774 in its Farmers State Bank first-rounder on Thursday.

Jace Hunter led the way with 28 points while Steven Morris had 24, Zane Collins had 12 and Rustin Pruitt had eight.

Arkoma drops at JHCC

Arkoma (5-4) lost its Jeff Hart Coliseum Classic in Lawton 52-47 to Ryan on Thursday.

Arkoma led 16-11 at the end of the first quarter, but trailed 31-25 at halftime and 46-38 through three quarters.

Deuce Walden led the way with 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Braylen Andrews had 11 points. Carl Brake had 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Arkoma won its consolatio­n semifinal 67-37 against Cement on Friday.

Walden had 23 poitns, seven rebounds, six assists and seven steals. Brake added 12 points.
