Pirates, Razorbacks win at Buffalo Invitation­al

Poteau’s powerlifti­ng team won the large-school division at the Buffalo Invitation­al in McAlester on Friday.

The Pirates totaled 356 points, 103 more than second-place McAlester.

Chris Garcia won the 132-pound class with 990 pounds. Jackson Sommers won with 1,115 pounds, and Caleb Bridges took second with 1,090 pounds at 157.

Gavin Glaze was second with 1,065 pouns, and Rylan Waddell was third with 1,060 pounds at 168. At 181, Eli Newby won with 1,345 pounds while Cesar Gutierrez was third with 1,090 pounds.

Christian Owens won with 1,325 pounds, and Brandon Carshall was third at 198 with 1,250 pounds. Landen Moore was third at 220 with 1,105 pounds. Jonathon Raudales was third at 242 with 1,235 pounds.

Logan Randolph was third at 275 with 1,295 pounds. Troy Waddell was third among heavyweigh­ts.

For McAlester, Blaze Baugh, the former Talihina Golden Tiger, took second at 198 with 1,265 pounds.

Panama won the small-school division. The Razorbacks totaled 140 points, 20 more than second-place Chouteau-Mazie.

Jacob Gregory was second at 157 with 950 pounds. Caleb Brewer won at 181 with 1,235 pounds.

Samuel Martinez was third at 198 with 1,125 pounds. Bryson Honeycutt won at 242 with 1,240 pounds. Jay Skelton won at 275 with 1,270 pounds.

Spiro’s Jayden Berry was fourth at 157 with 845 pounds.

Heavener’s Tony Adkins won the 123-pound class with 770 pounds.

In the girls division, Spiro’s Kami Autrey was fourth in the 165-pound class with 540 pounds.

In the seventh-grade division, Talihina placed fifth with 94 points, and Panama was sixth with 77 points.

At 105, Talihina’s Kai King won with 500 pounds. At 123, Talihina’s Gavin Brown won with 515 pounds.

At 157, Panama’s Gabe Meza took second with 545 pounds. At 198, Talihina’s Jack Worley won with 600 pounds.

In the eighth-grade division, TaliNORMAN hina placed second with 160 points while Panama was sixth with 70 points.

At 123, Talihina’s Cy Ammons was third with 545 pounds.

At 114, Tomi Ludlow was second with 665 pounds while Colton Jefferson was third with 500 pounds.

At 132, Talihina’s Landen Griffith was second with 690 pounds while Chris Gray was third with 635 pounds.

At 145, Talihina’s Noah Lloyd placed third with 695 pounds .

Talihina’s Bobby Burns at 157 with 710 pounds and Talon Griffith at 168 with 850 pounds were winners.

Talihina’s Sam Bryant was second at 198 with 845 pounds.

Panama’s Tristan Jordan won at 220 with 1,080 pounds. Hunter CoveyBond took third in the heavyweigh­t division with 940 pounds.

In the freshman division, Talihina’s Blaine Olson won at 114 with 445 pounds. Panama’s Oakley Shoup was second at 181.

Panama’s Cannon Ysbrand was third at 198.

Powerlifti­ng regionals will be March 1-3 with LeFlore County schools competing in the Southeast Regional in Hartshorne.
