Qualifying tournament assignment­s for golf include Muskogee Golf Club in 2A for Red Oak and Panama and Heritage Hills Golf Course in 3A boys for Heavener. Girls qualifying tournament­s will be April 16. For boys, qualifiers are April 22.

The Poteau league baseball and softball season at the Poteau Area Recreation­al Complex will start during the week of April

22.

The next LeFlore County Bass Club tournament will be April 20 at Tenkiller Lake, launching from Chicken Creek. The cost is $50 per angler.

The LeFlore County Historical Society will have its sixth annual golf tournament fundraiser on May 10 at Choctaw Country Club. Check-in with a grab-and-go breakfast will be from 8-8:45 a.m., and tee time will be 9 a.m. There will be lunch, door prizes and awards.

Signups for Poteau Pirates third- through sixthgrade football will be May 27 at Costner Stadium, with third and fourth grade at 6 p.m. and fifth and sixth grade at 7 p.m. Registrati­on is $70. Parents must bring a copy of the child’s birth certificat­e.
